I started volunteering at Agape Table at 175 Colony Street in Winnipeg about 3 years ago. at that time, I would volunteer during my time off and work in the kitchen cutting vegetables and prepping ingredients for the coming days.
When I started my personal training business in 2014, I would regularly volunteer at least once a week. When my AM schedule became full, I needed to stop volunteering because they are only opened in the mornings to serve breakfasts and handout bagged lunches for kids.
In early June, I organized a small group to head to Agape Table as part of an alumni initiative. At that time I found out they needed volunteers for their Tuesday afternoons where they basically set up a grocery store inside of a church hall and the people in the community can come and take what they need.
If you need something to do on a Tuesday at 11am, come down to Agape Table at 175 Colony to help unload the truck from Manitoba Harvest and help out for a couple of hours! I started back there today and it was awesome. The staff are very friendly and the guest are great!
